On Thursday April 27, celebrated bluegrass and roots band The Barrel Boys will be performing an evening concert at The Pier in Blind River.
A bluegrass powerhouse featuring rich vocal harmonies, killer picking, and a fun-loving, down-to-earth stage presence, The Barrel Boys are a unique staple of Canadian roots music. Informed by the traditions of bluegrass, country, old-time, and Americana, The Boys have crafted their unmistakable sound into a joyful and deeply soulful musical experience.
This is The Barrel Boys’ first time performing in Blind River, and the band is thrilled to be performing in a town that so deeply treasures folk and roots music. Concertgoers may recall fiddler and tenor singer Nathan Smith, who performed at The Pier in 2022 as a member of fiddle group Vinta and alongside banjo player Hannah Shira Naiman.
The Barrel Boys are: Kyle Kirkpatrick (dobro), Rob McLaren (banjo), Tim O'Reilly (bass), and Nathan Smith (fiddle).
The concert is Thursday, April 27, at 8:00pm at The Pier Sports Bar, 1 Causley St, Blind River
Tickets are $25 general admission, $20 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.thebarrelboys.com/shows or at The Pier (705) 356-1717 .
